Tilt & Turn windows

Tilt & Turn windows have been around in some European countries for over 40 years.

Tilt & Turn windows combine Functionality along with Security. All functions can be made with a one-handed, one move operation. They are smooth, easy and safe. The multi-point locking system also helps to keep the sash/frame from twisting or bending.

Your Tilt & Turn windows will therefore be kept straight and functional for many years to come. Unlike traditional windows, the Tilt & Turn hardware allows the window to open completely for an unrestricted exit in an emergency.

Fit a Tilt & Turn window into a PVCu door sash to create a Stable type door for ventilation or to keep the dog in the house while having the window open for a bit of fresh air. See one in action in our showroom.

Tilt Position

Tilt & Turn windows are Tilted inwards at the top for optimal, draft-free ventilation. This opening position is still secured against intruders, leaving you and your property safely protected. You could even leave the windows tilted open in the rain, depending on the wind strength and direction (tilt is approximately 150mm (5.9″) inwards).

For Ventilation:
A traditional open sash on a window often causes a draft due to the direct path of the outside wind into the room. With a Tilt & Turn window, the outside air is channeled through the sides of the window, while hotter air escapes through the top. This process allows efficient air circulation in the room without the draft.

Turn Position

Turn completely open (left or right hand operation) for entry/exit/return or for easy cleaning.

Depending on the position of the window in relationship to the the inside wall of the room, they can be opened up to around 180°, virtualy against the inside wall.

Ease of Cleaning:
By swinging the window inward into the room, a homeowner can easily and safely clean both glass surfaces of the window.

Closed Position

The Tilt & Turn window has a multi point locking mechanism with up to 7 cam locks for burglarproof security and keeps the sash tightly locked into it’s frame for wind and rain resistance.

Wind & Rain resitance: tested and certified for loads of up to 25 lb per sq.ft and short loads (7 sec.) of up to 63 lb per sq.ft. This translates to 100 mi/hr respectively 145 mi/hr wind.
